Parenting is hard, but parenting a neurodivergent child can be exponentially more challenging. You have to be more creative, flexible, patient,
consistent, compassionate, and so many other things just to make it through the day. On top of that, you have to advocate for them, be a detective,
plan ahead, help them stay organized and on task. You are exhausted. They are exhausted. And when you can't manage all of these things you feel
like a failure, your family struggles, and your child often ends up feeling terrible about themselves. I get it, and I'm here to help.
First, we will dive deep into what is going on. We will look at what is working and what is not, what your biggest challenges are,
what strategies you have already tried and their outcomes, and most importantly why your child is struggling in these areas. When you understand
why your child does (or doesn't do) the things they do and that it isn't intentional, it is much easier to have compassion for them,
and to regulate your own emotions, so that you can provide them the tools, structure, and support they need to be successful.
I will help you every step of the way, providing much needed encouragement, along with suggestions and help prioritizing. Together, we will come up
with goals that are attainable, and actionable steps to reach those goals, making adjustments as needed to continue moving in a positive direction.
It will take effort, but that effort will be rewarded. There will likely be a few setbacks along the way, but that is why I am here, helping you
plan for obstacles, and find alternate routes when necessary. If change was easy you would have already done it. A coach will
help you see progress, create lasting change, and be there as a reminder to stick with it when life gets in the way.
What Does Parent Coaching Look Like?
First, I like to meet you where you are in a way that works for you. For some, especially those with busy schedules, this can be online through
Google Meet. Others, prefer to meet in person. I make house calls, or I find that talking while walking can be helpful, especially if you have a
hard time focusing while sitting still. Let's face it, often times ADHD runs in the family. I am happy to work with you to find the best fit,
even if that means changing it up from time to time.
For parents of younger children, parent coaching alone is a great place to start. As kids get older and start to be more independent, I find
a hybrid model works best, with some parent coaching and some coaching for the child, with ratios dependent on age, maturity, personality, and needs.
This hybrid model also works well with teens, but often includes more direct coaching with the teen and less time spent with the parents.
Even with older teens, it is still important for the parent to understand where their teen is coming from and how best to support them
to foster independence while maintaining a positive parent/teen relationship.

Hi, I'm Jessica...
I’ve lived most of my life not realizing I have ADHD. I always wondered why everything seemed so hard, why I could be so motivated
one day and completely uninterested the next, why I struggled planning for the future and when I would come up with a great plan,
I could rarely follow through. It wasn't until my kids were diagnosed with ADHD and I started learning about it that everything
made sense. It is amazing to me that I was able to accomplish so much, yet I never felt like I was living up to my potential,
now I know why.
The more I have learned, the more I have realized that knowledge is power. Now that I understand how our brains work, I function so
much better and I feel a lot
better about myself, too. Is my life perfect? No. Do I still sometimes struggle with my ADHD brain?
Of course, but not nearly as often and I no longer beat myself up about it. I have the tools
to overcome life’s challenges and I
know how to use them. I only wish I had learned this stuff when I was still in school. It is now my life’s mission to help others.
I have years of experience as a teacher and more recently a coach. I taught in the Aviation Department at Gallatin College and at Embry Riddle
Aeronautical University. I am also the Color Guard coach at Belgrade High School, so I understand what it takes to teach and motivate both
teenagers and adults. I am a certified life coach with extensive training in ADHD, executive functioning, mindfulness, and positive psychology.
I truly believe that it takes all of these things to live our best lives. Are you ready to make a change? Let me help you flourish.
